2004 International Spring Ball

On Saturday May 29th the American Chamber together with other chambers in Guangzhou's international community held its annual Internatioanl Spring Ball. This years theme was "The Roaring Twenties" and had musical performances from Guangzhou's own "QQ and the Blue Note Jazz Band" as well as fantastic dance performances from the Top Star Dancers in addition to the Australian dance band, "Miles From Nowhere".

The American Chamber was very pleased to have many distinguished guests including, United States Consul General, Edward Dong, Guangdong Civil Affairs Director, Mr. Li Weijie, Huadu District Party Secretary, Mr Chen Guo, Vice Director of Economic Commission for Guangzhou, Mr. Zhao Xiasui, President of The Guangdong Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment, Mr. Huang Zhiwei in adition to Mr. and Mrs. Eric Zheng from the Foreign Commercial Service Office and Mr. and Mrs Keith Schneller from the Agricultural Trade Office of the United States Consulate.

This years Ball was easily the most successful ever with a sold out attendance of over 490 persons this gala evening. We are deeply appreciative to our members and sponsors who have supported this event.

Amcham Provides 5-star Service at the Canton Fair

With a substantial grant from Amway, the American Chamber of Commerce in South China was able to staff an impressive "Service Center", fully equiped, with seven work stations, computers, printers, fascimile machines, acanners, and plasma television screens. The Service Center provided all Fair visitor access to board band high speed Internet and communications-free of charge.

2004 Board of Governors Introduction Gala
On Feb 19, 2004, the American Chamber of Commerce Guangdong introduced our new governors to all our members and other guests. Over 1,300 people participated this party, more than 100 provincial and local government, officials of every foreign consulate and chamber representatives exchanged information, networked, finalized transactions, made new contacts, solved legal and regulatory problems, and made new investments.

2003 Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival
On Dec. 20th, 2003, The American Chamber of Commerce Guangdong with Guangzhou Television held 2003 Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival.
