Pan Pearl River Delta Area (PPRD), the largest regional combination in China, is China's new attempt in regional cooperation and development practice and also a breakthrough for coordinated development between the eastern regions, the central area and the west.
The PPRD region, also known as "9+2", involves Fujian, Jiangxi,Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan as well as the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions.

Fujian, called "Min" for
short, is situated in the southeast of China
on the coast of the West China Sea, facing Taiwan
across the Taiwan Strait and adjoining Zhejiang.
Jiangxi and Guangdong on the northeast, northwest
and southwest respectively. The Fuzhou port and
Xiamen Port are two of the top 10 container ports
in China. Back up with the low-cost labor supplier
and abundant row material manufacturers, Fujian
has earned a great advantage in clothing manufacturing
in China.

Named as ¡®the Land of Abundance",
Sichuan is abundant in mineral, hydropower, biologic
and human resources. As an inland province in
Southwest China, Sichuan is surrounded by the
Qingzang plateau in the west and the Three Gorges
and the Yangtze River to the east with a total
area of 485,000 square kilometers. Nowadays Sichuan
acts as the most powerful economic engine in
West China.

Hunan is abbreviated as "Xiang".
Its advantage in location and transportation
enables it a crucial transportation hub to bridge
up the east coastal cities and the west inland
cities together. Hunan takes the leading role
in agricultural industry in China, especially
for the rice industry.

Jiangxi, is also called "Gan" for
short, is one of China's inland provinces. It
is located in the southeastern part of the country,
on the southern bank of the Yangtse River. It
borders Zhejiang and Fujian provinces in the
east, Guangdong Province in the south, Hunan
Province in the west and Hubei and Anhui provinces
in the north, covering a total area of 166,900
square kilometers.

Guangdong, "Yue" for
short, has experienced the average economic increment
rate of 13.4% for 25 years. In 2003, the total
GDP of Guangdong reaches 1,345 billion in 2003,
occupying one ninth of the GDP in China.With
sharing land borders with Hong Kong and Macao
and with Guangzhou as its capital, Guangdong¡¯s
regional advantage will keep strengthening as
the intregation of Pan PRD economic zone.

Located in south China,
Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is a coastal
province. It occupies a land of 236,700 square
km, accounting for 2.5 percent of the nation's
total and ranking ninth among all the provinces.

Hainan Province, lies in
the southernmost tip of China, holding the most
oceanic area in China As the largest special
economic zone in China, Hainan strives to establish
an emerging industrialized province, a high-efficiency
tropical agriculture base and an island with
tropical resort.

Guizhou, known as Qian
for short, is situated in Southwest China. The
total area of Guizhou is 176,000 sq.km, of which
61.7 percent are mountains, 30.8 percent hills
and 7.5 percent flat land between mountains.
Its neighbors are Hunan Province to the east,
Guangxi to the south, Yunnan to the west and
Sichuan and Chongqing to the north. Guizhou is
wealthy in energy, mineral, biologic and traveling
resources.

Yunnan is the most southwestern
province in China. Adjacent to Vietnam, Lao and
Myanma, Yunan has the most convenient terrestrial
access to the ASEAN countries. Yunan is also
abundant in characteristic natural and cultural
recreation resources.

The third bank center,
the fourth gold market, the seventh foreign exchanges,
the ninth stock exchange, with these aureoles,
Hong Kong is known as one of the most famous
financial center in the world. As the establishment
of Pan PRD economic zone, Hong Kong is keen on
tightening it cooperation with mainland China,
providing professional financial service to other
provinces.

Macao, including the Macao
Peninsula, Taipa Island and Coloane Island, is
located south of Guangdong Province at the western
bank of the Pearl River Estuary. It is separated
by a river from Wanchai of Zhuhai City in the
west and faces Hong Kong in the east by the sea,
The major economic pillar in Macao includes export,
gambling, financial and real estate industries.
As a free-entry market, Macao is attractive to
investors in its low managing cost, low tax rate
and stable financial system.

Shenzhen, located in south
China, adjacent to Hong Kong, is the first economic
special zone in China. Shenzhen is a modern seaside
city which enjoys a subtropical ocean climate
with rich sunshine and blooming flowers throughout
the whole year. From a small town in 20 years
ago, Shenzhen has become a modern city with prosperous
economy, sound legal system, beautiful environment
and high civilization. Shenzhen has one of the
most powerful, fastest growing economies in China.
In 2003, the local total GDP reached 286 billion
yuan in Shenzhen, which has increased 17.3% than
the previous year.

As the capital of Guangdong
Province, Guangzhou is recognized as the political,
economic, cultural, technologic and transportation
center of South China. With lovely sunshine and
flowers in a whole year, Guangzhou is also called
¡°City of Flowers¡±.
